URGENT MISSING PERSON – Portugal the Man fan missing in Frankfurt
PTM fans around the world please help if you can, if you have any information please contact the father direct. Devon Hollahan came to our show in Frankfurt on Saturday. We met him and hung out with him. He is a good guy, just like you and I, and his family needs our help. We love you all and hope you can help.
This is a letter from Devon’s dad…
My son, Devon Hollahan, disappeared in Frankfurt, Germany on Saturday,
November 21st at approximately 3AM, local time. Devon and his friend, Josh
Friedman, had taken a train from Prague, where they both live and work, on
Friday, the 20th to attend a Portugal The Man concert in Frankfurt and to stay for the remainder of the weekend. Both Josh and Devon had purchased round-trip
train tickets.
According to Josh, they had enjoyed the concert, attended the after party with the band and had taken a cab to central Frankfurt to look for their hostel. The taxi dropped them off at the Hotel Luxor. They walked from the Hotel Luxor toward the train station. They had been drinking, beer, mostly and, according to Josh (and verified by others), they were “tipsy”, but not inebriated. After looking for several minutes, Josh stepped away from Devon to ask a couple of bystanders for directions. When he turned around, Devon was nowhere to be seen. After attempting to text and phone Devon numerous times, Josh gave up and went to the hostel. The following morning, he checked with the hostel to see if Devon had checked in on his own and found out he had not. He also checked a couple of other nearby hostels to no avail. At some point Saturday, Josh contacted the Frankfurt police and the US Consulate to file a missing person report. He waited for Devon at the train station at the appointed departure time, but Devon never showed up.
Josh called me from Prague at around 3PM MST to give me the news.
We are currently working with the US Embassy in Frankfurt, the Frankfurt Police Department, The US State Department, The Division of Homeland Security and others. We discussed Devon’s credit card activity, which wasn’t (and still isn’t) unusual. He had made 2 stops at ATMs in addition to purchasing train tickets in Prague – nothing since. I received an email from Mr. Seitz at the US Embassy indicating they have checked ambulance services, hospitals and jails with no results.
The band members and management of Portugal The Man have been unbelievably responsive and helpful in our efforts to find Devon. To all of the fans, please help us find Devon as well.
I am obviously concerned for my son. Always an independent soul, he is also responsible and diligent. This type of behavior is totally out of character.
Devon Hollahan is 22 years old, 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 150
pounds. When last seen, Devon was wearing a green, plaid shirt, jeans, a
black work jacket (sport coat?) and a tan cap. He was last seen in the
vicinity of the Taunusalange metro station in central Frankfurt. Pictures

My son has been living in Prague for the past 5 years. As soon as I heard about this on Good Morning America I called him. He works for ICON in Prague! I asked him to please ask all his friends and colleagues to notify the authorities if any one has any information regarding Devon! My prayers are with the family!

Dies ist ein Brief des Vaters von Devon.
Mein Sohn Devon Hollohan verschwand in Frankfurt am 21. November gegen 3 Uhr nachts. Devon und sein Freund, Josh Friedman, kamen am 20. November mit dem Zug aus Prag, wo beide leben und arbeiten, um in Frankfurt das Portugal the man Concert zu besuchen – beide hatten “Round-Trip-Train-TIckets”.
Nach Joshs Schilderungen besuchten beide das Konzert, hielten sich mit der band auf der After-Party auf, nahmen dann ein Taxi ins Centrum, um nach Ihrem Hostel zu suchen. Das Taxi liess sie am Hotel Luxor raus, sie gingen von dort aus zum Bahnhof (trainstation?). Sie hatten Bier getrunken, waren aber nicht vollkommen betrunken. Nachdem sie einige Minuten suchten, entfernte sich Josh von Devon, um einige Aussenstehende um Auskunft zu bitten.
Als er sich wieder umdrehte, war Devon verschwunden und nirgends zu sehen, Josh versuchte daraufhin, per SMS und Anrufe ihn zu erreichen, auch das scheiterte. Josh ging daraufhin ins hostel, auch dort war sein freund nicht zu finden. Am nächsten morgen überprüfte er das hostel erneut, auch die umliegenden hostels. Am Sonntag kontaktierte Josh die frankfurter polizei und die US botschaft. Auch am verabredeten treffpunkt der abreise am bahnhof erschien Devon Hollohan nicht.
Josh informierte mich aus Prag telefonisch. momentan arbeiten wir mit der US Botschaft in Frankfurt und der Franfurter Polizei. Wir untersuchen die Aktivität seiner Kredit-Karte, wo nun keine Transaktionen waren, was unüblich ist. Er machte 2 Mal Halt bei ATM um Zugtickets in Prag zu kaufen – seitdem nichts.
Ich erhielt eine Nachricht von Herrn Seitz der US Botschaft, in der er beteuerte, dass sie Ambulante Stationen, Krankenhäuser und Gefängnisse nach Devon durchsucht hätten – ohne Erfolg.
Die Band Portugal the Man und deren Management waren sehr fürsorglich in den Bemühungen, ihn auszumachen. Eine Bitte an alle Fans, die dies lesen: Bitte helft mit, Devon zu finden.
Ich bin sehr besorgt um meinen Sohn. Er ist immer eine sehr unabhängige Seele, er ist verantwortungsvoll und fürsorglich. Dieses Verhalten ist für mich sehr unnormal und entspricht nicht seiner Natur.
Devon Hollohan ist 22 jahre alt, 6 feet tall und wiegt 150 Pfund. Als er zuletzt gesehen wurde trug er ein grünes , kariertes Shirt, Jeans, eine schwarze jacke (Sportlich) und eine Kappe auf dem Kopf.
Er wurde zuletzt gesehen in der Taunusanlage Metro Station in Frankfurt. Ein Photo liegt hier bei.

Just one thought (but the police may have checked that, but you never know): Were all cameras of that area checked? It was near a hotel so maybe sth. was recorded… This is so sad and bizarre :-/

Mein Sohn, Devon Hollahan, verschwand Samstag, den 21.November, um ca. 3 Uhr nachts in Frankfurt. Devon und sein Freund, Josh Friedman, waren am Freitag, den 20. November, aus Prag mit dem Zug gekommen, wo sie beide leben und arbeiten. Sie sind nach Frankfurt fuer ein Konzert von ‘Portugal The Man’ gekommen, und hatten beschlossen, das Wochenende zu bleiben. Josh und Devon hatten beide die Hin- und Rueckfahrt gebucht gehabt.
Laut Josh hatten beide eine gute Zeit waehrend des Konzerts, sind auf die After-Party mit der Band gegangen, und haben dann ein Taxi in die Frankfurter Innenstadt genommen, wo sie ihr Hostel suchen wollten. Das Taxi hatte sie beim Hotel Luxor abgesetzt. Von dort sind sie in Richtung Bahnhof gegangen. Sie haben, und hatten davor schon, Bier getrunken. Laut Josh (und anderen) waren sie durchaus angeheitert, aber nicht betrunken. Nachdem sie einige Minuten gesucht haben, hat sich Devon von Josh abgewendet, um Passanten um Auskunft zu fragen. Als er sich umgedreht hat, war von Devon weit und breit keine Spur. Josh hat Devon mehrere SMS geschrieben und hat mehrmals versucht ihn anzurufen. Letztendlich hat er aber aufgegeben und ist zum Hostel gegangen. Am naechsten Morgen hat er an der Rezeption des Hostels gefragt, ob Devon unabhaengig von ihm eingecheckt hatte, aber erfuhr, dass das nicht der Fall gewesen ist. Josh hat auch bei anderen Hostels in der Umgebung nachgefragt, jedoch ohne Erfolg. Irgendwann am Samstag ist Josh dann zur Polizei und zur amerikanischen Botschaft gegangen, um eine Vermisstenanzeige aufzugeben. Zur geplanten Abfahrtszeit des Zugs nach Prag zurueck ist er zum Bahnhof gegangen und hat dort auf Devon gewartet, aber Devon ist nicht gekommen.
Josh hat mich aus Prag um etwa 15 Uhr amerikanischer Zeit (23 Uhr tschechischer/deutscher Zeit) angerufen, um mir von dem Geschehenen zu berichten.
Wir arbeiten jetzt mit der amerikanischen Botschaft, der Frankfurter Polizei, dem US State Department, der Division of Homeland Security und anderen zusammen. Wir haben Devon’s Kreditkartenaktivitaet ueberprueft, welche keine Ungewoehnlichkeiten vorwies (und auch noch immer nicht vorweist). Er war zweimal beim Bankautomaten gewesen zusaetzlich zum Kauf der Zugkarte – und seitdem kam keine neue Abbuchung dazu. Ich habe eine Email von Herrn Seitz von der amerikanischen Botschaft erhalten, worin er bestaetigt, dass es weder in Krankenhaeusern oder deren Notaufnahmen, noch im Gefaengnis eine Spur gibt.
Die Bandmitglieder und das Management von Portugal The Man haben sich sofort gekuemmert und waren sehr hilfreich in unseren Bemuehungen, Devon zu finden. Wir bitten auch alle Fans, uns zu helfen, Devon zu finden.
Ich bin selbstverstaendlich sehr besorgt um meinen Sohn. Obwohl er sehr unabhaengig ist, ist er doch auch sehr verantwortungsbewusst und sorgfaeltig. Diese Art von Verhalten passt nicht zu ihm.
Devon Hollahan ist 22 Jahre alt, 1,83m gross, und wiegt ungefaehr 68kg. Als er das letzte Mal gesehen wurde, trug er ein gruen-kariertes T-Shirt, Jeans, eine einfache schwarze Jacke (Trainingsjacke?), und eine beige/hellbraune Baseball-Kappe. Er wurde das letzte Mal in der Naehe der U-Bahn-Haltestelle Taunusanlage in der Frankfurter Innenstadt gesehen. Bilder sind beigefuegt.

How fucked up is this shit no? I have heard about these crazy ass people who drive around in vans and look for unsuspecting people walking by themselves, usually drunk and late at night, and they kidnap the people and you never see them again lest it is face down in a body of water. I know this shit sounds messed up but people are crazy and they are always looking to take advantage of a helpless soul. If you dont believe me or think I am a retard then look this shit up. It is WAY more common than people think. Countless young people go missing every year and their cases are never solved. I really hope Devon is ok and just on a blackout drug binge of some kind. I will keep him and his family in my thoughts and prayers.

Frankfurt Police: the missing U.S. banker’s son Devon Hollahan is most probable dead. The last trace get’s lost at the river Main. The 22-year-old fall most likely drunken into the river, a police spokesman reported on Friday. There is no evidence of a suicide or a crime. The police could, after extensive investigations with the help of a dog, trace the track from downtown to the river Main. A shoe that belonged most likely to the 22-year-old was found at a Main dam in the suburb of Griesheim. Despite an intensive search with the help of divers, the body has not yet been found, so the investigators.

Frankfurt police: Missing person Devon Hollahan found dead – The American citizen Devon Hollahan was found dead in the river Rhein near the city Boppard. A preliminary autopsy result confirmed the hypothesis so far that he drowned in the river. Evidence of a crime has not been found in the autopsy, so the Frankfurt police assumed that in the early hours of 11/21/2009 under the influence of alcohol Devon Hollahan was fallen into the river Main and drowned.

I followed the search for Devon regularly because it touched me deeply + I live and work closely and could´t understad whereto he suddenly disappeared. I heared in the local media today that he now has been found dead approx. 100km north in the river with no signs of murder. He must habe been so drunken that he fell into the river. Before he escaped from the embulance which people called after taking care of him on a sidewalk.
For me it sounds very unlikely that he acts like this “only” from alcohol. Maybe he took some other stuff (and maybe without knowing) and had some kind of a psychosis.

To all of you who support the search for Devon – either working on Frankfurt with us or through your thoughts and prayers, we thank you. As you know, the outcome was not what we wanted. In fact, it was everything we feared. I do want to correct one thing reported by the German police. There is absolutely no evidence to support the theory that Devon drunkenly fell into the river. There were witnesses that saw something completely different – an altercation on the river bank and Devon was pushed in. As reported by Josh and members of PTM, they just were not that drunk. So please take the tidy story told by the Frankfurt police as just that – a story. Remember Devon as a smart, funny music loving young man who got to see PTM. It was something he really wanted to do, and he did it. PTM – your kindness to helping to find Devon has meant a great deal to our family. Thank you.
