With every album we release I post a blog telling you all how it happened, how we recorded it, what it meant to us. With every leak I post a sister blog letting you all know it is ok, we support it and we do this because we love music. After the release we thank you all for the support. It makes sense, right? It has become a habit, a habit that we deliver with all of our hearts with every fresh posting. It is a habit nonetheless. It is a habit with one point: We love you. We are thankful for your support and we are happy to share in something that we feel to be very special. We are happy to be working together to achieve this goal through file sharing, CD burning, blog postings, and Ipod samplings. We need you to do this. Again, we love you for all the help you have given us. Not a bad habit to keep, right? Well, we truly mean it. Well, with American Ghetto that habit was broken. The album did not leak and the album (purposely) did not have a huge push from our label or EVR’s, outside of a few web postings and our twitter accounts. The response? Amazing. Truly beautiful. Through hash-tags and blogs and last.fm accounts you all spread the word. You did it through your love for music, not through hype or buzz. You have no idea how much this all has meant to us. You all planned this and you all made this happen. American Ghetto has been more widely publicized through your online writing and your tumblr accounts than anything we have done in the past. The response has been fantastic and much greater than we could have ever expected for an album that, before March 2nd… and a bit of “The Dead Dog”, no one outside this group had really listened to. Yeah, we had handed out a few copies to our closest of friends and played it for a few of you, but that has only made it that much more exciting to let it out. There were no advance reviews and no chat room discussion. Thank you so much for having faith in us. Thank you. Obviously we owe a big deal of thanks to The Satanic Satanist, who has been huge part of our lives since its release into the world. It helped us enter into our first festival season with the confidence we needed and helped us understand ourselves a bit more, musically. American Ghetto was just the next step of many to come. We plan on doing more releases like this as well as attempting to tackle our songwriting a bit more, until the next release…. Thank you all, we love you.
I need to say this again. Without the help of Rich Holtzman to help us make this happen, it wouldn’t have. Without EVR’s support in our idea for this release, it wouldn’t happen. Without Anthony Saffery, Adam Taylor and Camp St. Studios this would not have happened.
Last but not least. Without you this wouldn’t happen.
Now we start the next step.
