I have been a Portugal fan for some time now. I got into them at around the release of Church Mouth (great album). As i slowly uncovered their discography at that point i grew more and more excited. The credit goes to my younger brother. I seen them mostly in Philly and one in San Fran and next week in D.C. I just wanna say that the music is great on all albums I have found new flavors in all…but hands down, Waiter is the best front to back and maybe one day the guys will bring back seeds of that album in new work. I just wanna say i dont dislike change, it is good, as well as experimenting with new sounds. There was just an electricity, call it RAW POWER! that came from that era.

PS, about the “Break” being song #2 -

After much consideration, I realized the “Break” should be track #6 instead of #2, in between “Fantastic Pace” and “The Pushers Party”.

I know the lyrics “Straight man…” are repeated in there to lead into “60 Years” and I’m sure you have a special reason for the break being so early in the album, though it just does not sound quite right. I always feel it disrupts the flow right after the album gets going with “The Dead Dog”.

Though without it being there, “The Dead Dog” then flows perfectly into “60 Years” with that electric whoosh. Then, as #6, it works rather well after that instrumental ending of “Fantastic Pace” and serves very nice as a psychedelic prelude into “The Pushers Party”.

If other people could chime in how they feel, that’d be cool. And I just wanted to throw this out there in case it could be revised for the physical copies. It’s easy to rearrange songs on a playlist, but on vinyl it’ll be a little more difficult!

its so amazing its alot more mellow, i love the instrumentals in fantastic place, you guys did a good job on the song titles too i can feel the vibe of each song title before i even listen to it. ahhhh so amazing thank you thank you now i can go blaze and listen to some new music

i vote no pre production on the next album! I vote its all purely spontaneous in the studio as a full band. I also vote that you have a time constraint placed on you of three weeks to finish it.

I got the digital copy and a physical copy of the album, and after listening to it about twenty times in the past week, I feel like I have to tell you that this is your greatest work yet, PtM. You really created something special. I think this album shouold go down in history as the first perfect album of 2010. Who’s with me?
