In related news today is Zoe English Manville’s birthday. She has had a big part vocally in this band for three of our five recorded albums. the first two being Censored Colors and the Satanic Satanist and the soon to come American Ghetto being the third. We worked very hard on this coming album and we did it our way and a bit different in a lot of ways too our past releases…. The update and story will come. Yes, it is true. We are playing Saturday at Coachella. Should be fun.

We are very excited to be heading out on tour again. As promised we will be hitting most of the cities we missed on the last tour. Sadly we cannot hit every town but we will do our best trying. Coming out on tour are fellow Alaskan’s Port O’Brien and New York’s The Dig. We expect this to be a fun tour. Thank you for all the moral support over the past few months, we are close to replacing a most of the gear and will have by the time.
We will shortly make an official announcement for the release of American Ghetto. This one is for you, we are not sending it to press and we are not sending it to radio. When all the finishing touches are complete we will make it available to everyone on the same day. OK, we will answer 2 questions right now…
1. Yes, it is an entire album, 11 songs
2. Yes, it is a slightly more electronic, beats, samplers, etc. album than The Satanic Satanist. Maybe not something for the casual listener but for those who have a most of our records we think you will love it.

Zach, Boone (soundMAN) and I are back home in Alaska with family spending this holiday season together after a long stretch of tour and music. It has been a heavy year in some respects. We had some big losses as far as material possessions but in the end, these are only things. Our hearts go out to the Hollahans and our close family friends the Weavers for their loss of family. We love all of you and will bring an update with the new year.

Thank you all for the support in the search for Devon. Thank you for the offers of donations after the robbery. Thank you for the help with British Airways through twitter (the issue with my stolen guitar is still not resolved and we may ask you for help again with this matter.). Above all thank you for being there for us when we needed… I wish we hadn’t been in need as much as we were this fall but it happened and it was very humbling for us.

I should say as bad as things looked they were never truly bad. You showed us and the Hollahans that we could have a community of love and respect. We could help one another and work together towards a common cause. We felt that love and want to continue to do what we do in return. No amount of money can match this. Everything we have goes into this band and we do it for you and we do this together with every ticket you buy, every shirt, every CD, and every email you send us. Every friend you share our music with.

Thank you all so much.

We all owe this band and what it is to people like Rich and Reina and Ronan Holtzman, The Sechrists, The Neighbors, The Shaws, The Carothers, and The Gourleys as well as new additions to the family with our new agent Matt Hickey and Boone Howard. Truly wonderful people. We love you.

In band news: We have been talking to labels recently and went in mainly to entertain ideas and future options for the band. We have made some great friends in this and in my mind have found a true level of trust. Whatever we do will be open to all of you and will be in the best interest of the band and its future and what it’s future can be for all of you. We will do right by this.

We met him and hung out with him. He is a good guy, just like you and I, and his family needs our help. We love you all and hope you can help.

This is a letter from Devon’s dad…

My son, Devon Hollahan, disappeared in Frankfurt, Germany on Saturday,
November 21st at approximately 3AM, local time. Devon and his friend, Josh
Friedman, had taken a train from Prague, where they both live and work, on
Friday, the 20th to attend a Portugal The Man concert in Frankfurt and to stay for the remainder of the weekend. Both Josh and Devon had purchased round-trip
train tickets.

According to Josh, they had enjoyed the concert, attended the after party with the band and had taken a cab to central Frankfurt to look for their hostel. The taxi dropped them off at the Hotel Luxor. They walked from the Hotel Luxor toward the train station. They had been drinking, beer, mostly and, according to Josh (and verified by others), they were “tipsy”, but not inebriated. After looking for several minutes, Josh stepped away from Devon to ask a couple of bystanders for directions. When he turned around, Devon was nowhere to be seen. After attempting to text and phone Devon numerous times, Josh gave up and went to the hostel. The following morning, he checked with the hostel to see if Devon had checked in on his own and found out he had not. He also checked a couple of other nearby hostels to no avail. At some point Saturday, Josh contacted the Frankfurt police and the US Consulate to file a missing person report. He waited for Devon at the train station at the appointed departure time, but Devon never showed up.

Josh called me from Prague at around 3PM MST to give me the news.

We are currently working with the US Embassy in Frankfurt, the Frankfurt Police Department, The US State Department, The Division of Homeland Security and others. We discussed Devon’s credit card activity, which wasn’t (and still isn’t) unusual. He had made 2 stops at ATMs in addition to purchasing train tickets in Prague – nothing since. I received an email from Mr. Seitz at the US Embassy indicating they have checked ambulance services, hospitals and jails with no results.

The band members and management of Portugal The Man have been unbelievably responsive and helpful in our efforts to find Devon. To all of the fans, please help us find Devon as well.

I am obviously concerned for my son. Always an independent soul, he is also responsible and diligent. This type of behavior is totally out of character.

Devon Hollahan is 22 years old, 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 150
pounds. When last seen, Devon was wearing a green, plaid shirt, jeans, a
black work jacket (sport coat?) and a tan cap. He was last seen in the
vicinity of the Taunusalange metro station in central Frankfurt. Pictures
are attached.
